Dachser, the international freight and logistics services
provider headquartered in Kempten (Allgaeu/South-west Germany),
had a revenue of 3.1 Billion Euros in business year 2006 and employed approx. 15,000 staff around the world, including 8,700 in
Germany. Dachser's business model focuses on core competences,
and rests on three pillars: European Logistics, Air & Sea Freight
and Food Logistics.
The foundation of the company's success is a closely integrated
Europe-wide network of branches that ensures genuine proximity to
the customer. All the company's branch offices are interlinked
via scheduled freight services, which offer customers daily
procurement and distribution operations. The company also
provides warehousing and value-added services via its contract
logistics activities.
Dachser's growth-oriented business policy has seen the company
rise over recent years to become one of the Top 3 players in
Germany – and one of the Top 5 in Europe – in the core activity
of European logistics. Dachser's Air & Sea Freight division is
the seventh-biggest in Germany, while in the food logistics
segment the company is one of the two operators that currently
dominate the German market.
Dachser helps its customers to increase their profitability by
redesigning their logistics processes and thus improving their
costs position and performance. Dachser's mission is to improve
the logistics balance sheet of its customers.
